What is Click-Through Rate (CTR) and Why Does It Matter?
Click-Through Rate (CTR) is a fundamental digital marketing metric that measures the ratio of users who click on a specific link to the number of total users who view a page, email, or advertisement. In simpler terms, it tells you what percentage of people who saw your link or ad ended up clicking it.
A high CTR indicates that your target audience finds your ad or content highly relevant, engaging, and aligned with their needs. Conversely, a low CTR suggests a disconnect between your messaging, creative design, or targeting parameters and the audience seeing the ad. On ad networks like Google Ads or Meta Ads, CTR is a primary factor in Quality Score algorithms: higher CTR ads earn lower Cost Per Click (CPC) pricing.
