What is Click-Through Rate (CTR)?
Click-Through Rate (CTR) is the percentage of people who saw your ad and clicked on it. It's one of the most fundamental metrics in digital advertising, measured as: CTR (%) = (Clicks ÷ Impressions) × 100.
A 2,500-click campaign from 100,000 impressions yields a CTR of 2.5%. In Google Search, average CTRs range from 3–5% for top positions; on display networks and social feeds, 0.1–1.5% is considered normal. Knowing whether your CTR is above or below benchmark tells you how compelling your headline, creative, and offer are.
High CTR on a low-quality landing page wastes budget — it must be read alongside your landing page conversion rate and cost per lead to tell the full story.
