## The Formula This Calculator Uses

**Annual CO2e** = Weekly CO2e × 52. **Annual metric tons** = Annual CO2e ÷ 1,000.

**Swap scenario:** Swapped grams = (beef + pork + poultry + fish) × swap % ÷ 100. Each animal category is reduced proportionally by the swap percentage, and the swapped weight is added entirely to the plant-based category (a simplifying assumption — it substitutes by weight, not by protein content, which is a stated limitation below).
